Sophia Loren has suffered an unfortunate fall in her home, according to a new report.
The 89year-old Italian acting icon has apparently fractured her femur, and a few other bones from the incident.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sophia apparently slipped and fell in the bathroom of her Swiss home and all of her future engagements she had planned have been cancelled.
The outlet says that Sophia “sustained several fractures to her hip, and a serious fracture to her femur which needed surgery.”
Due to her age and the particular surgery on her femur to repair, there is a long rehabilitation period, and THR says a “cautious optimism” is surrounding the family.
Sophia has two sons from her marriage to Carlo Ponti, who passed in 2007: the younger Carlo Ponti and Edoardo Ponti, who is married to former NCIS star, Sasha Alexander.
Her most recent film appearance was in Netflix’s The Life Ahead.
