The world can be filled with turmoil. In life there are always people getting in your head and different paths to take. At times it can be difficult to tune out the static. Dynamic synth pop/rock pair Your Future Ghost seek solace from the noise in “We’ve Got Places”. The radiant release starts off soft then ascends into a blast of blaring fuzzy bass. Kate of the band shares, “It’s a song about that place where you find refuge from whatever noise is going on in the world. Whether it’s an actual place, a person, or something else, I think we all have those places where we can escape the chaos and be ourselves.” Listeners can resonate strongly with the yearning to break away from it all.
The delicate yet hard-hitting duo consists of singer/songwriter, musician and actress Kate Voegele and songwriter, producer, composer and actor Michael Grubbs. The two were introduced when acting on the hit TV series One Tree Hill, building an instant bond. Both being bold creatives, Voegele and Grubbs collaborated virtually during lockdown. That along with several studio sessions afterwards and Your Future Ghost was conceived. Together they have crafted a unique and penetrating sonic fusion that is all their own. This latest single emits that same raw edge.
