Tim McGraw is opening up about his initial reaction to Taylor Swift‘s debut single she named after him.
Taylor took over the country charts with “Tim McGraw” in 2006 and then country music, before venturing into the pop genre.
In a new interview, Tim is looking back at being the namesake for her first ever single.

While promoting his newest album, Standing Room Only, Tim looked back at the peak moments of his career – which included Taylor‘s single.
“It makes me pretty proud,” he told Yahoo Music about having his name on that song.
Tim added that when “she first came out with it, I thought, ‘Have I gotten that old that now that these new artists are singing songs of my name in it?’”
That being said though, Tim still considers Taylor “one of the greatest songwriters ever.”
Following her single named after him, the two teamed up with Keith Urban on “Highway Don’t Care” in 2013.
Just recently, Tim opened up about his relationship with wife Faith Hill.
