Indie-pop artist Skyler Cocco recently released her new single/music video, “Hot Like Summer,” a love song about how a summer romance turned into real love.
Originally from New York and now based in L.A., along with being a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Skyler Cocco holds a degree in song composition. Her sound blends elements of ‘80s synth pop, alternative dance music, and indie rock into a unique, alluring sound that’s topped by hook-driven lyrics.
Skyler broke through in 2020, with the release of “The Drive,” followed by “Party,” which amassed more than one million streams on Spotify, “Stranger,” “Passenger Side,” “Tired Of Us,” and “Lips Of An Angel.” She’s been featured in elite media outlets.
“Hot Like Summer” opens on a pulsating, pushing rhythm made up of a thumping kick drum and plump, vibrating bassline. Shimmering, washy synths infuse the melody with creamy waves of coloration that take on sumptuous resonance in the chorus.
