Love Fame Tragedy announces details of second studio album ‘Life Is A Killer’

Love Fame Tragedy, aka Wombats frontman Matthew “Murph” Murphy, today (October 19th) announces details of his second solo album ‘Life Is A Killer’, along with the release of the records lead single, ‘Slipping Away’.

Scheduled to be drop Friday, January 19th 2024 via Bright Antenna Records, the LP will see the celebrated songwriter explore themes of self-reflection, love, and managing family dynamics, as he navigates his way through balancing life as father of two, and touring the world with The Wombats.

Written over the course of two and half years in between London and LA, with the help of producers Jacknife Lee (U2, The Killers, Snow Patrol) and Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag N Bone Man, The Wombats), ‘Life Is A Killer’ promises to push boundaries but sonically and lyrically, resulting in what is sure to be Murph’s most personal musical release to date.

Of the projects spirited lead single ‘Slipping Away’ – a brutally honest track that sees Murph put an “upbeat spin on the changes that can happen in a marriage” – the Liverpudlian says: “‘Slipping Away’ is loosely based on what it’s like to be with someone after the honeymoon period has ended. Feeling like a veil has been lifted and you both see each other in the cold light of day, for the first time. It’s about formulating a plan to deal with other people’s imperfections as well as your own.”
