Doja Cat Releases ‘Scarlet’ Album, Defends Artwork & Explains Meaning of Spider Image

Doja Cat‘s new album Scarlet is out now and she took to Twitter just hours before its release to defend the artwork.

The 27-year-old singer put an image of two spiders on the album artwork and she even wore a spider web outfit to the MTV VMAs earlier this month.

The new album features the #1 single “Paint the Town Red” along with songs like “Demons” and “Balut.”

Head inside to read what Doja Cat said about the artwork…

“The art I chose for my album is beautiful and I like it a lot. The two spiders signify conquering your fear. None of my album covers had meaning until this album. You not accepting me was a fear I used to have. I don’t care anymore about satisfying you,” Doja said in response to someone who called the artwork “ugly.”

After someone told Doja not to be reactive to one opinion, she said, “You don’t have to be reactive to what random people say online because it’s just one opinion of some random person online you do not know.”
